What is Sludge Blanket Monitoring?
Sludge Blanket refers to the formation of sludge at the bottom of a settlement tank. This sludge builds up over time and is pumped to the next stage of the process when it reaches the required level.
Non-contacting sludge blanket monitoring ensures operators do not have to come into contact with the sludge. When used on primary tanks, Pulsar Measurement’s Sludge Finder 2 controls the de-sludging process to ensure a higher sludge density is recovered. When used on final settlement tanks, it can be used to reduce the chances of a pollution event.
How can Pulsar Measurement help?
Unique to Pulsar Measurement, The Sludge Finder 2 system ensures that the build-up of sludge is identified before being pumped out of the tank. The system helps combat previous contacting techniques that were labor-intensive and put plant operators at risk of toxins.
The unique Sludge Finder 2 system can also provide significant cost savings from less runtime on pumping systems and less energy spent on dewatering.
