The SFM 6.1 is a specially designed Slurry Flow Meter designed for industrial and dredging flow applications. This non-contacting ultrasonic doppler flow meter is specifically designed for limestone slurry, fly ash slurry, gypsum slurry, and many others! The non-contacting ultrasonic sensor simply clamps to the outside of a wide variety of pipe materials and sends an ultrasonic signal into the pipe, measuring acoustic reflections off solids and gas bubbles that are suspended in the slurry.
With no need to shut down flow or interrupt processes, industrial and dredging operators can keep sites running to capacity and ensure that maximum flow rates are being reached. Configuration for this clamp on flow meter is easy with the user-friendly menu system and 26 million point data logger that allows operators to see flow charts and create dynamic reports on their process.
The SFM 6.1 Slurry Flow Meter can measure flow in either direction and gives a display of positive or negative values on the meter's backlit, matrix display. The totalizer can be controlled to subtract reverse flow or to totalize forward flow only, and the 4-20mA output can be adjusted to a negative flow setting.

The limestone slurry is abrasive so in-line flowmeters are not practical. Non-contacting Doppler flowmeters can be used both on the fly ash slurry supply lines and on "used" or recirculated slurry.
