Retention ponds and basin levels

What is a retention pond used for?

A retention pond's primary use is to manage stormwater runoff to prevent flooding and downstream erosion, with the aim of improving water quality in an adjacent river, stream, lake, or bay. Oil and Gas companies may use this particular form of water storage to perhaps mitigate flood risks of operations and/or to help the quality of water sources nearby, especially if they are discharging back into the environment.

How can Pulsar Measurement help?

Non-contacting level measurement would be ideal for these applications as engineers don't need to go anywhere near the water source and installation is quick and easy. Using low/high-level alarm relay functions on a Pulsar Measurement controller helps give a warning to plant operators of a potential flood risk.
