Gaining flow measurement inside a pipe can sometimes be tricky. The DFM 6.1 Doppler Flow Meter works as a non-contacting, clamp-on flow meter to offer effective clamp-on pipe flow measurement from outside the pipe. Its Doppler technology makes it perfect for use as a water flow meter, specifically for difficult liquids, or liquids with suspended solids such as wastewater, slurries, sludge, chemicals, viscous liquids, and abrasives. The non-invasive Doppler ultrasonic flow meter fits a pipe 12.5 mm (0.5 in) inside diameter or larger, and clamps to the outside of the pipe, gaining flow measurement readings without interrupting the process.

External Sensor - No Contact, No Maintenance

The DFM 6.1 Doppler Flow Meter is ideal for full pipes and any liquid containing gas bubbles or suspended solids. To measure velocity an acoustic signal is reflected to the sensor from moving particles or gas bubbles suspended in the fluid. Flow is calculated based on the configured pipe inside diameter.

Installation is easy – without shutting down the flow system. No contact is made with the moving fluid, and no pipe cutting or drilling is required. There is no fouling or scale build-up on the sensor.

The easy–to–use 5-key configuration system on the DFM 6.1 Doppler Flow Meter makes setup and installation quick, simple, and easy. The unit features a large digital flow rate display with a totalizer, isolated 4-20 mA output, 26-million-point data logger, and two programmable control relays.

Reverse Flow Measurement

The DFM 6.1 Doppler Flow Meter measures flow in either direction and will display positive or negative values. You can control the totalizer to subtract reverse flow or to totalize forward flow only.

Use Doppler pipe flow measurement devices to control flow within a process, protect pumps from no-flow or dry pumping, or for flow proportionate use. You can even use it to test existing equipment to ensure it's still providing accurate pipe flow measurement.
